About me - PDP (PoDaPanda)
As a MCer:To be honest I haven't rack up enough mileage to give you a "trilogy" or "chronicle" of what I have done with Minecraft in the past. But nevertheless it should be enough for some kind of background story if you will. I started playing minecraft when it became popular, sometime around December 2011 I think. I was inspired by some of the creations I saw different sites and videos (Like for example, a replicate of the Eiffel tower). When I first started playing, I only enjoyed the aspect of it being a sandbox type of game where you can build anything you want, hence I started with creative mode. Somewhat like Mr. Danbull here: (Please don't mind the inappropriate stuff ><")
Of course since my inspiration to play minecraft was from other peoples creations I see online, which are mostly huge or grand I would say, I would aim for big projects like them as well. I wanted to build a city, with city walls and a giant castle on one end of it. But I never get to finish it, due to a mysterious problem of my project failing to save at a certain point of my progress. So with that I had to delete the map, delete minecraft and reinstall it. (Hopefully that fixes the problem)
I have also played in one of the public servers in the past along with some friends of mine. We decided to go for a replica project of a fictional city called Tara. I would say we have at least 60-70% of it finished before our little construction team got "disbanded". One of my friends decided to quit playing because he felt that he has "played out" MC and it's too boring to continue, and eventually my other friend and I stopped as well due to our difference in availability. (Now I don't have a screenshot for it, by the time I make this blog the server has already reset the entire map, so basically whatever I have build in the server was long gone)
So after a few months, I have decided to give Minecraft another go, but this time I want to try something completely different - survival mode. I will probably start with easy difficulty first, then as I improve and prosper (hopefully I do) I might increase the difficulty as time goes.

As a gamer:
If you already check out the "about this blog" page and click on the wiki link on mid-core gamer, that pretty my describes what I am as a gamer. I am not too much into the competition aspect of any computer games, or I should say that I am more into the personal achievements/goals/improvement aspect of it. (And Minecraft is perfect for that in my opinion)
Again the wiki link is also rather accurate in the fact that I have played, and I am still playing a rather wide range of games. I started gaming in around 1998, and if I remember correctly my first game was age of empires 1. And from that point on I have started gaming ever since. From FPS like half life/half life 2, to racing games like need for speed underground, I have played all kinds of computer games throughout the years.
It is when MMO RPG games became popular that I have somewhat found myself focused mainly in one genre of gaming, mainly because one would tend to spend much more time on his/her own character in games like this. Plus the sheer fun of fighting along side large groups of players, who has different roles and functions in the party, was something completely new to and extremely interesting to me. To name just a few that i have played/am still playing that were the more long lasting ones for me, are Ragnarok online, World of warcraft, Mabinogi, Grand Fantasia, and Eden Eternal (currently still playing on this one), they were/are a lot of fun and I would say, the fact that even with my limited free time after I started working I would still try to find time to play, says a lot about how fun MMO RPGs are to me.
Even though with that being my main genre of gaming these days, I would still look into and play other genre of games from time to time. With "lighter" games such as angry birds, plants vs zombies and cut the robe being released on handheld devices and some on computers, I was introduced and somewhat into casual gaming as well. But of course with my limited schedule, these apps/games are only played when I have small chunks of time to kill on certain days of the week.
Now I think you will agree with me if I say that, Minecraft is not really a casual game, nor it is really a heavy content game like say, League of legends? But along with Eden eternal, Minecraft is the second game that I am currently into, and I would say it is a well balanced game between a casual game and a heavy duty game. I can log into a single player mode and work on my won't creations to kill time/or for longer periods of time and I would still wouldn't get drained out from it after hrs of game play. And it's a fun game for all ages, even though is somewhat "sharp around the edges" (see what I did there? ^^)
