Apology

Sorry for not posting so long. There has been some changes here and there and long story short:

1. I will be rather busy to the point that I probably won't have time for Minecraft until the end of next week, or even longer.

2. I am currently waiting for a private server to be set up and released. Once that is release, I will be going there permanently and my entire project will be done there instead.

And with that, I apologize for the unknown date that my next post will be out.

Waterworks (Complete :D)

Sadly it just so happens that I was pretty busy during the weekend as well, so I couldn't get as much done in Minecraft as I wanted to, which in turn make this post smaller than I wanted it to be. But nevertheless I did make some progress. And most of all, I manged to make my bucket, started AND finished fixing the water levels around my island.

Perhaps I did not explain it detailed enough in my very first post. What happened was that eventhough I did find the perfect platform for my workstation/storehouse and my project, it was actually a semi island (I donno if thats what it's call but its bascially a "protrusion" of a big piece of land...kind of like Korea?) So I had to cut it off from the mainland so that it would be a complete island, detached from any other pieces of land (Thats the "landscaping" I was talking about). So here what it looks like after I did the "landscaping"

And here is a picture of what it looks like after I finish filling the water levels:

Now of coures that is not the only thing I did, I have also gathered enough wood for more wooden chests. I don't think I have ever shown pics of the second and 3rd floor of my workstation, so here they are respectivly:

I kind of look the screenshot for the 3rd floor a bit too early, as of right now both floors are already filled with wooden chests. My next thing aside from more material gathering, is to make wooden signs beside or on top of each chests, so I can label each one of them to make it even more organized.

So far I would say I am making good progress, be it rather slow relativly speaking. I have also started to collect more iron for crafting armors and swords, and during the mornings in game I would duke it out with spiders to get materials for making bows. And I did try to fight other monsters without armor, its really dangerous if you don't keep and eye on ur heath bar. But nevertheless, so far I haven't died once yet, and like I said in my last post, that I always throw all my materials back home first before I go out to kick mob butts.

And yes, I DO cook food. Eventhough a lot of times I tend to be oblivious of my hunger bar (as shown in the above screenshots lol) A lot of times I would be so occupied to the point that only when my hunger bar is empty and my HP bar starts going down, that I would run back home and cook. (at least I am not like that irl lol)

Wood, ores, Wood, ores, then Wood, then more ores

See how messy my inventory is? This means that I really gonna start making more wooden chests and get myself organized before I find myself haveing to temporary drop things in the ground and try to get it later. With that in mind, plus my desire to start working on those water levels as soon as possible, I have made a bunch of pick axes and axes, ready to go on a mining & logging fest. I have made extra chests with the remaning wood I had, one close to he mine entrance, and the other close to the jungle biome. And I have put a few axes and pick axes on the respective areas so I don't have to run back and forth so much.

Now my plan is to mine in the morning, then return to the store house to throw in the ores, then go back out with my axe to non-karate chop the wood outa those trees in the jungle biome. That way I will not get caught in the mine and not noticing that nighttime is approaching. (plus running home from a mine is much slower than running home from a above ground.

Yes yes I know what you're thinking. What happened to all the mob battle action? Well the answer is that I want to play it safe, at least in the beggining. That means I don't really wanna fight much mobs until I at least get some iron armor going. And that will have to wait again, after I finally get the iron ores to make myself a bucket and fix the water levels.

Anyways, I don't think I will make anymore posts during the weekend. I am still going to play, but instead I'm planning to make a bigger post on monday. So till then, stay toon till next week? (If theres anyone out there that actually follows my blog that is)

Lesson learned

In my last post I did mention about fixing the water levels around the areas that I "landscaped." Well, that will have to wait due to something I did, not knowing that would result in me losing my iron blocks.

Yesterday morning I was in a rush, so I just threw my iron blocks into my furnace and logged off Minecraft. But when I return last night, the iron in the furnace disappeared. So now I have to continue minning until I get more, which should be a big problem considering I have somewhat of a mining tunnel going on already.

On the bright side, I have made a few more wooden chests to store things, and soon I will have 2.5 floors filled with wooden chests. With that jungle biome close by, wood is never a problem. However i do wish to find myself some gold or diamonds soon, so I wouldn't have problems getting even more reasources in big ravine areas, or even a mineshaft.

Other than that, I didn't have much else done. So Im gonna end my post here and hopfully my next post would actually be on "waterworks" considering that I don't make any other mistakes lol.

New map, New project, Survival Mode O.o

As you can tell that I have probably pretty much play out on creative mode, and honestly it wasn't a good idea to go into that mode right off the bat after you purchase the game. I might not be that competitive of a gamer, but no competition sometimes can be pretty boring. So with that going on I wanted to, for once give myself a little more challenge and go for a new map under survival mode.

Yes yes, call me a wimp but I am going to start off with easy mode. I mean for a newbie in survival mode game play I'm not going hard mode right off the bat, that's nonsense. So with that set, I went off for a new adventure. Now of course aside from challenging myself with a new game mode, I also have a project in mind. Once I get a few mining spots and a storehouse/work station going, I am going to build something I called "Castle on the ocean" which is basically a giant fortress/castle if you will, but standing on top of a few giant pillars in the middle of the ocean. (This was inspired but one of the art pieces I saw recently in a website, which I do not wish to disclose the URL nor to upload the actual art piece in here)

Now I have to say, my spawn point was perfect. I was on the sea sore of a jungle biome, and on the other side of the ocean not too far away, was an half island with part of it being flat piece of land having nothing but grass, and the other half being a small hill that you can spot coal blocks on the side of it. So I am pretty much set right as I enter the map. There's my wood sources on the jungle, my first mining spot at the hill, and the grass area for my storehouse/workstation, and my actual project.

Even though I started off in a rather nice area, I still had to do some landscaping work between the jungle, the mining spot and the flat area, so that they would be separated from each other completely. This has made some of the water levels drastically uneven. I will have a lot of water filling work to do once I have the enough materials to craft buckets. It's dangerous work but for perfection sake, it has to be done.

I will save that for later, once I get the workstation and the mining going, when I get the enough iron I will make buckets and work on the water later. So far I have mined quite a bit and made some progress on my workstation. To make the general area more spacious, I decided that instead of building my workstation upwards, I build the entire thing underground on one part of the flat area. So far it has 3 floors with the first floor being my crafting spot and bed, and the 2nd + 3rd floor being the storage area packed with wooden chests. Now at this point I have the enough iron to make buckets, so my next task will be doing the "waterworks"
